Cascadian Action
Cascadian Action prides itself on being a community and humanitarian-centered organization. Our mission is to uplift Cascadians and give them a foundation to stand on their own. We do this through mutual aid networks; building community, distributing food, water, and supplies to Cascadians most destitute. Supporting the working peoples of Cascadia through solidarity in their fight for better working conditions, stability, and dignified jobs. We support this fight by attending strikes, promoting and building workers organizations such as unions and cooperatives, and advocating for legislation that will directly help the working people of Cascadia. Protecting our environment with trail keeping programs and invasive species clearing initiatives. Promoting local legislation with flyering campaigns. Fighting against tyranny by organizing protests against government despotism. And promoting the unique culture of Cascadia with the assistance of small businesses, unions, cooperatives, native tribes, and the everyday citizens of this beautiful nation.
We seek to promote the unique emergent culture of our region and foster it into something that encourages the self-actualization of every Cascadian. This culture would hold intrinsic values that include a firm stance against all tyranny and oppression, as well as granting a platform for and encouraging community engagement between Cascadians of all backgrounds; races, religions, and creeds. Cascadian culture is born from the American culture, and, as such, it is necessary that we acknowledge those whose lands these once were. An ideal Cascadian culture will be one that is a synthesis of the old and the new America, a reconciliation but not a renunciation. We would seek to work with the indigenous people of our region in order to help forge a new way forward, not relegate them to the annals of a high school civics class curriculum. We also acknowledge the many other cultures that came after, someone of European descent is just as Cascadian as someone of African or Asian descent. Our culture will not only be rooted in its intolerance for tyranny, but in its love for equality, love for freedom, and love for the region we live in.
Our principles are based on a uniquely Cascadian narrative, not bound by left or right-wing political frameworks. We do not goose step to fascist whims, nor do we plow forward as a communist vanguard, and we are certainly not centrists that sit on the fence and declare that both sides should be held to the same light of our burning world. And it is such that our organization reflects the many different perspectives and opinions of the Cascadian people we represent. This does not mean that we compromise on our values; we do not tolerate the intolerant.
